Jiri Pavlenka joins Werder Bremen

Werder Bremen and SK Slavia Prague have come to an agreement on the transfer of goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka. Werder's sporting director made the announcement on Tuesday at midday. The Czech international is expected in Bremen later on this week to complete a medical and officially sign his contract.

Group stage exit for Veljkovic

The third and final group game of the U21 European Championship also ended in defeat for Milos Veljkovicand and the Serbian national team. On Friday evening, the Serbs lost 1-0 to the Spain U21s and were thereby knocked out of the tournament.

Jaroslav Drobny will continue to wear the green and white of Werder Bremen next season. The 38-year-old goalkeeper has committed his future to Werder. Sporting Director Frank Baumann announced the news on Friday afternoon.

Draw for Veljkovic and Serbia

Milos Veljkovic drew 2-2 with Serbia under-21s on Tuesday night in their European Championship group game with Macedonia. Serbia opened the scoring through Gacinovic in the first half before Macedona turned the game on its head in the first half. It took a last minute equalizer from Durdevic to rescue a point for the Serbs. Werder’s centre back played the whole 90 minutes.

Loan: Kleinheisler to FC Astana

Midfielder Laszlo Kleinheisler will be plying his trade at FC Astana next season. The 23-year-old will be loaned out for a season to the Kazakhstani capital-city side, as Werder’s director of sport revealed on Tuesday afternoon. The two-time Kazakhstani champions will also have an option to buy Kleinheisler.

Zander moves to St. Pauli on loan

Luca Zander will spend the next two seasons on loan at FC St. Pauli. The 21-year-old, who featured for the U23 SV Werder side last season, is likely to be given more game time at the second-tier club from Hamburg.
