Werder to face Köln and Osnabrück in a pre-season tournament in Lohne

SV Werder Bremen will take on newly-promoted Bundesliga side 1. FC Köln and third-division champions VfL Osnabrück in a pre-season tournament. The three teams will face each other in the ‘Interwetten Cup’ on July 20th.

Ole Käuper loaned out to Jena

Ole Käuper will wear the FC Carl Zeiss Jena kit for the upcoming season. The 22-year-old has been loaned out, made official by sporting director Frank Baumann on Tuesday afternoon. This in turn means that his 18-month loan spell at Aue Erzgebirge comes to a premature end.

Jan-Niklas Beste will spend next season on loan at FC Emmen. Sporting director Frank Baumann confirmed on Tuesday that the 20-year-old full-back will join the Eredivisie side for the 2019/20 campaign.

Eggestein grabs assist in U21s win

The Germany U21s made an impressive start to their European Championship campaign in Italy and San Marino. Maximilian Eggestein played the full 90 minutes as Stefan Kuntz’s side beat Denmark 3-1, also providing the assist for Marco Richter’s opener. The FC Augsburg man starred in the victory, going on to score another goal and set one up too.

Werder to play in wohninvest WESERSTADION as of July

As of next season, Werder Bremen will play at home in the wohninvest WESERSTADION. The Bremer Weser-Stadion GmbH signed a partnership agreement this week with wohninvest, a commercial real estate company from Fellbach, near Stuttgart. The 10-year contract, which also includes naming rights, will run until 30th June 2029 and will bring nearly €30 million to the Bremer Weser-Stadion GmbH.

Pre-season friendly tournament in the Zillertal valley

SV Werder Bremen have announced further plans for their pre-season training camp in the Zillertal valley in the Austrian Alps. Three days after arriving in the alpine village of Zell am Ziller on 4th July, Florian Kohfeldt’s side will participate in a friendly tournament in the village’s Parkstadion. They’ve made it! Maximilian and Johannes Eggestein have been named in the final Germany U21 squad for the European Championship in Italy and San Marino. DFB announced the squad on Friday morning.
