New WERDER.TV extend invitation to home games

It’s been up and running since Tuesday, 01.07.2008: WERDER.TV has opened its new programme. The target for the future: ‘Even better, even faster!’ The most notable new aspect is that users can now access WERDER.TV on its very own platform, and no longer using the partner-page Maxdome.

Pre-season training: Wiese fit, Baumann eager

In just a few hours time, trainer Thomas Schaaf will call his troops together for the first time in preparation for the 2008/2009 season. The whole process will begin with a fitness test at 3:30pm on pitch 11 of the Weser Stadium training complex: “Finally back to playing football, I’m really itching to go. Werder Bremen greet the 100,000th WUSEUM visitor

99.996, 99.997, 99.998, 99.999, 100.000 - Werder Bremen surprised the 100,000th visitor to the WUSEUM on Tuesday morning. At 11:06am, Werder director Klaus-Dieter Fischer made a point of carefully counting a school class of mentally handicapped children from the Grolland School as they entered the WUSEUM, and he picked out Emre Uludasdemir as the lucky, honorary guest.

WERDER.TV: Green-Whites sign Huseinovic

On the first day of preparation for the 2008/2009 season, Werder Bremen made their next new signing. General manager Klaus Allofs announced exclusively to WERDER.TV, that the Champions League participants had signed a four year deal, until 30.06.2012, with Said Huseinovic.

Bundesliga: Werder start in Bielefeld and then host S04

Werder sign defender Niklas Andersen

Werder Bremen have signed Niklas Andersen from third division Rot-Weiss Essen. The 19 year old defender signed a four year deal to keep him at the club until 30.06.2012. The defender will join up with his new team mates for the beginning of pre-season training this Thursday.

Record: Werder sell 130,000 jerseys

Werder Bremen and outfitter KAPPA achieved a new superlative during the 2007/2008 Bundesliga season. In the sale of replica shirts, some 130,000 home, away and event jerseys from the KAPPA collection changed hands. During the 2006/2007 season sales reached 85,000. The result was a 53% increase in sales.

Title within touching distance: Germany book final place

Thanks to a 3:2 (1:1) win over Turkey in Basel on Wednesday evening, the German national team booked their place in the EURO 2008 final. 39,374 spectators crammed into the capacity filled St. Jakobs-Park and saw Bastian Schweinsteiger (28’), Miroslav Klose (79’) and Philipp Lahm (90’) get the goals to put Germany into their first European Championships final for twelve years.
