Successful stopover: Werder beat FCH 5-1

By 8:46pm, the job had been done and Werder had successfully put their second training camp behind them. On their return journey from Schruns in Austria, the Green-Whites made a stop-over at the DKB-Arena and notched up a convincing 5-1 (2-0) win over FC Hansa Rostock.

FIFA judge declares player release obligation – Werder’s reaction

On Wednesday morning Werder Bremen received the final decision of the judge from the ‘FIFA Player's Status Committee', Slim Aloulou, which states that all players under 23 years of age, who are nominated for the Olympic Games in Beijing, must be released by their respective clubs.

They had to be patient for quite some time but Werder Bremen’s 3:0 win over Maccabi Netanya in Schruns was never threatened at any point on the day that Markus Rosenberg and Hugo Almeida finally linked up together again to form the Green-White’s front line.

Olympic debate: Werder contact CAS sport tribunal

The Werder Bremen board of directors and Diego met on Tuesday morning to discuss their viewpoints in relation to the Brazilian internationals wish to participate at the Olympic Games. After 90 minutes of talks the two parties failed to come to a mutual agreement.
