Vestergaard leaves for Gladbach

Jannik Vestergaard is leaving SV Werder Bremen to join Bundesliga rivals Borussia Mönchengladbach for an undisclosed transfer fee, as confirmed by both clubs on Friday.

Jaroslav Drobny joins Werder

Goalkeeper Jaroslav Drobny has joined SV Werder Bremen. The 36-year-old has moved to the Green-Whites from Hamburger SV and has signed a contract until 30.06.2017. Sporting director Frank Baumann confirmed the news on Wednesday afternoon. The former Czech Republic international completed his medical in Bremen earlier in the day.

Tim Wiese is getting serious! The former Werder goalkeeper has been personally invited by Paul "Triple H" Levesque to take part in an intensive training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. "Whatever I have to do, my goal is to be in this ring by next November," told the 35-year-old.

Green-Whites at Kirin Cup

The Kirin Cup is a tradition in Japan. Since 1978, teams from around the world have been invited to compete. Bulgaria, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Denmark were the participants this year. Two Werder players were in action for their respective national sides. Jannik Vestergaard and Izet Hajrovic met in the semi-final and both played again on Monday.

Training camp promises to be a tough trip

Werder’s third training camp ahead of the 2016/17 season will take place in Herzlake. The region, which is home to 4,000 people, is synonymous with one former Bremen head coach: Felix Magath. Werder youngster Johannes Eggestein extends until 2019

SV Werder have tied attacking ace Johannes Eggestein down to a new long-term deal. The 18-year-old has signed a professional contract until 30.06.2019. Sporting director Frank Baumann revealed the news on Thursday.
