Florian Kohfeldt: “We kept the game open for a long time and I thought we deserved at least a point. The goals we’re conceding at the moment are just stupid unfortunately. There’s no other word for it. In the first half, I thought we did well when we had possession but we didn't manage that in the second half, which annoys me. Nevertheless, the team showed a lot of passion again and tried their best to play good football. Unfortunately, we were a bit toothless in the final third again. These are recurring themes over the past few weeks. We have to do better at creating chances.”
Kevin Möhwald: “Dortmund increased the pressure in the second half, but we were still in a good position. In the end, we concede an unnecessary goal due to an individual mistake. We played with a lot of courage and we have to continue with that, even if that sounds a bit stupid after a loss. We have to keep going and focus on creating more chances. Unfortunately, we’ve come away empty handed today, but we definitely deserved more.”
Ömer Toprak: “We’re disappointed, definitely. It was a difficult game for both teams. We didn't know what to expect with the change of coach at Dortmund. After conceding the opening goal, we came back well and it was an open game. In the end, it's just frustrating that we concede a penalty for the third game in a row, which ended up changing the game.”
Josh Sargent: “We started the game well and fought hard early on. The second goal was very unfortunate, but we have to move on now. This week we have another important game against Mainz and we have to be ready for that.”
Ludwig Augustinsson: “It's very frustrating to have lost this game to a late goal like that. We're conceding goals too easily at the moment but we're not panicking. We're fully focused on the Mainz game on Saturday now.”
