Ludwig Augustinsson and Theodor Gebre Selassie started as usual at fullback. New arrival Patrick Erras shielded the defence as a deep-lying midfielder alongside Leonardo Bittencourt and Maximilian Eggestein in the midfield three, with Maxi Eggestein the only player to complete 90 minutes. In front of them, Davie Selke was deployed as a classic nine and was flanked by Tahith Chong and Johannes Eggestein who played on the right and left wings respectively.
