After 13 years with his previous club, the man standing at 6ft 5 had a great desire to try something new. “I really wanted a change of scenery and to take on this challenge here in Bremen.” Patrick Erras trusts in his own ability, and outlined his strengths: “I know what I can do. I want to work and fight hard to convince the coach, and to get into the team.”
Frank Baumann, sporting director, also has confidence in his player: “He knows that he needs to fight for his place. But we have faith that he can start making appearances for the team very soon.” Baumann described heading ability and versatility as two key strengths of the new number 29. The right-footed Erras has appeared in 19 Bundesliga matches for 1. FC Nürnberg, whilst playing a further 61 games in Bundesliga 2. Erras will immediately get to work, with the aim of making a good impression at SV Werder.
