22-year-old Werder left-back Thore Jacobsen will join 3. Liga side 1. FC Magdeburg on loan for the 2019/20 season. Green-Whites sporting director Frank Baumann announced the loan transfer on Friday.
“The step up from the Regionalliga to an ambitious third tier side in Magdeburg is an important move for Thore. This season, he unfortunately wasn’t able to find any consistent match rhythm between our first team and our U23s in the Regionalliga. He will have the chance to gather regular match time once more in Magdeburg,” explained Baumann.
Thore Jacobsen joined the Green-Whites in the summer of 2015 after progressing through the Hamburger SV youth academy. Jacobsen went on to score three goals and provide five assists in 81 appearances for Werder U23s in the 3. Liga. The twice capped Germany U20s international also made ten appearances for the U23s in the Regionalliga this season.
