Werder always score. But they had to settle for a point in Wolfsburg. Both teams had chances in the first half, but it was the home side that were marginally on top. Shortly into the second half, Werder went behind when John Anthony Brooks beat the offside trap to head in from a free kick. After the goal, Werder seemed to wake up and turned things up a notch. Several chances followed, but it was captain Max Kruse who got his side back on level terms in the 74th minute. The goal means that Werder have now scored in a club-record 24 league games in a row in a single season.
