The European dream lives on! The Green-Whites won 1-0 in Hoffenheim on the penultimate matchday of the season and will still be in with a chance of qualifying for Europe next week on the final day. Johannes Eggestein was the match-winner, scoring a header in the first half. The Green-Whites had been pushing forward towards the end of the first half and deserved their lead. Shortly before the break, Maximilian Eggestein scored to put Werder 2-0 up, but VAR ruled the goal out. The referee ruled that Jojo Eggestein had jumped with his arm up in the build-up, and a foul was given. Werder remained strong in the second half, and can still finish in a European spot going into the final matchday of the season.
