Werder ended their Englische Woche with a 1-1 draw away to Borussia Mönchengladbach. The game was not the Green-Whites’ best performance of the season, and Florian Neuhaus put the hosts ahead just after half time. Werder changed things and scored the equaliser through Davy Klaassen (79’). The point leaves Werder still in the hunt for Europe, sitting two points behind Wolfsburg in sixth.

Line-up and formation: Florian Kohfeldt made two changes from the DFB-Pokal win against Schalke in mid-week. Theo Gebre Selassie returned from injury and came in for Marco Friedl, with Sebastian Langkamp replacing Milos Veljkovic in the only other change.

69 mins: Sahin’s backpass is short and Hazard runs onto it, but Pavlenka gets there just in time to clear the danger.

71 mins: Rashica! The Rocket Man almost has Werder level with a fierce shot but Sommer saves and then saves again from Kruse’s header on the rebound!

79 mins: GOOOAAALLL – Davy Klaassen! Werder are level! Osako crosses into the box and Klaassen meets the ball perfectly to guide it into the corner!

90+2 mins: Full time in Mönchengladbach. It wasn’t Werder’s best performance of the season but the Green-Whites came back from behind and will be glad to have picked up a point.
