Yuya Osako has fired Japan into the final of the Asian Cup with two goals in their win over Iran. Japan won their semi-final 3-0, with the Werder attacker starting and scoring the first two goals. After a goalless first half, Osako headed his side in front in the 56th minute. Around ten minutes later, he scored a penalty to double the lead. Genki Haraguchi added a third for Japan in added time to put the cherry on top.

Japan will find out who they’ll face in the final tomorrow, when Qatar play UAE in the other semi-final game. The final then takes place on Friday 1st February at 15:00 CET. Japan last won the Asian Cup in 2011, beating Australia in the final. It’s the first time that Yuya Osako has taken part in the competition.
