Josh Sargent named in provisional USA Squad for Gold Cup

Werder attacker Josh Sargent has been called up to the provisional USA squad ahead of the CONACAF Gold Cup 2019. Sargent is part of the 40 man squad that will take part in a training camp from 26th May until 2nd June together with the U23 squad in Annapolis, Maryland.

The final squad will be decided after a friendly against Jamaica, which will be a remake of the 2017 Cold Cup final, and will be announced to the public on 5th June. The team will then play a final friendly game on Sunday 9th June against Venezuela.

The Gold Cup is the international competition for North America, Central America and the Caribbean. The USA are the current holders of the competition and are one of the three host nations of the 2019 tournament, which will take place between the 18th June and the 18th July in USA, Costa Rica and Jamaica. To date, Sargent has picked up six caps for the USMT, scoring two goals.
