There was no winner on the night as the Germany and Austria U21 teams went head-to-head in the final group match of this summer's European U21 championship. Werder's Maximillian Eggestein played 83 minutes, while Marco Friedl played the full 90 in a 1-1 draw. Once again, Johannes Eggestein watched on from the sidelines.

The draw was enough to see the Germany side into the semi-finals on Thursday, 27.06.2019, while Austria are eliminated after finishing third in the group. Germany also secured qualification for next summer's Olympic Games in Tokyo following the draw.
