SV Werder Bremen will travel to SV Atlas Delmenhorst in the first round of the 2019/20 DFB-Pokal, as revealed on ARD Sportschau on Saturday evening.
The game will be played between Friday (09/08) and Monday (12/08) in Delmenhorst, with the specific time yet to be confirmed.
“We’re very happy with the outcome. The game will be very special for the whole region due to the proximity of the clubs, and alongside Thomas Horsch, who played for Atlas before, it is also great to be able to go coach in my hometown,” said Florian Kohfeld on the draw and added, “in a footballing sense, we will prepare well for the game and of course we want to progress.”
Sporting director Frank Baumann is also pleased with the draw and is confident that the team will progress. “We are pleased with this cup derby. It is a short trip for our fans, so there’ll be a lot going on. But of course, the most important thing is progressing. That is what we want and will do.”
