Joe was brought out onto the pitch of the real stadium with his model during half-time and was interviewed in front of the crowd. He was able to share why he enjoys making German stadiums in particular so much, despite coming from England: “The atmosphere is just much better and the stadiums are really interesting.” It took three and a half weeks and 4000 blocks of Lego to make his re-creation seem just as life-like as the original, including all of the features such as the floodlights, the stands and the roof. Although Joe has already travelled to numerous stadiums in the past to show off his work, he was particularly nervous before being presented in Bremen: “I don’t normally get the chance to appear in the half-time interview. That would never happen in England.”
The young artist boasts an impressive 3,000 followers on Twitter and 3,500 subscribers on YouTube. Since the weekend, he has gained two more very special fans: Leonardo Bittencourt and Milot Rashica. Shortly after Saturday’s home draw against SC Freiburg, the Werder stars came to visit his unique creation.
The wohninvest WESERSTADION is now the sixth German stadium that he has created. Normally, in order to create enough space, he has to break his models down into individual pieces. However, it has been confirmed that Joe’s newest work will stay with us here in Bremen, and will be given its very own area in the stadium for Werder fans to come and visit it!
