The Werder players can expect a special training session on Friday 14 November 2014. The team will bridge the national team break with a test match with Danish top flight side Odense BK coming to play on the Platz 11 grounds. Kick-off is at 5:30 p.m.
Werder coach Viktor Skripnik said after the 2-0 victory against VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga that there is still a lot of work ahead for him and the team to continue to solidify the procedures. And test matches are a perfect chance for that. But Skripnik will not have seven players available as Zlatko Junuzovic, Sebastian Prödl, Izet Hajrovic und Cedrick Makiadi, Davie Selke, Luca Zander and Raif Husic are all on national team duty. The Green-Whites coach wants to use the opportunity to give the players who haven't played recently a chance to showcase themselves.
After just more than one-third of the season, Odense BK are currently 11th in the Danish Superligaen, which is a relegation spot - albeit just two points from a safe spot. Odense have lost three times in their last four matches, but they will not just serve as target practice for Werder.
The Danes are not unknown opponents for SVW, who faced off with the team before the 2012-13 season in Horne, Denmark, where Werder won 2-1. This will be the second match against the team.
