The first test match - the highlight in Zell am Ziller is now scheduled as SV Werder will take on Spanish Champions League qualification side Athletic Bilbao during their 10 days of preparations in Zillertal. The highlight of the training camp will be played on Sunday 27 July 2014 at 5 p.m. at Park Stadium in Zell am Ziller. The good thing for every supporter is that whoever books the fan trip "Green-Whites Zell im Zillertal" will be able to watch the game at Park Stadium without any additional costs.

The Werder players can look forward to the best conditions for the test match against Bilbao in Park Stadium.

Athletic Bilbao collected 70 points in the Spanish Primera Division, good for fourth place and a spot in the qualification for next season's Champions League. The Basque team recently played the final of the Europa League in the 2011-12 season. Traditionally, the club only plays with players who are from the region originally or went through the club's football training. Iker Muniain, Aymeric Laporte and Ander Herrera make up the foundation of the team.

SV Werder have played against the Basque team three times in recent history, in a tournament in Southampton in July 2011 (2-1 loss), and in the 2009-10 Europa League group stage (3-0 and 3-1 victories).
