SV Werder Bremen started the preparations for the 2014-15 season with a comfortable victory. Head coach Robin Dutt's team won their first test match Friday evening against the amateurs from BW Schwalbe Tündern 6-1. Spectators could see that the Green-Whites had some tough first training sessions in their legs. But the dam broke in the final 10 minutes as Fritz, Prödl and Co. scored three times. The halftime substitute Davie Selke scored two goals while Assani Lukimya provided a fantastic goal for the final score.

Reaction to the match
Robin Dutt: "That was the second day today and we have some tough trainings and performance tests in our legs. So it was okay. But we were a bit too un-concentrated in front of the goal. You could tell that from the physical tiredness."
Fin Bartels: "The first game was a little rocky, the legs are heavy. But altogether it was a nice test. Unfortunately it was like I was blind in front of the goal. Of course, that's aggravating regardless of the match. Otherwise I think I worked well into the team."
Davie Selke: "It was important that we started the first preparation match well. I think that we mastered that. I am happy that I scored twice and I think that I can help the team like that."
