After SV Werder Bremen won their first four test matches of the new season, Robin Dutt's team had to accept a 1-1 draw at Pogon Stettin on Tuesday 8 July 2014. The teams played in heavy rains in Stettin with Ludovic Obraniak giving the Green-Whites the lead after half an hour. The equaliser came shortly after the break as Santiago Garcia scored an own goal.

Werder went ahead after 30 minutes as Fin Bartels passed to Obraniak and the Polish international struck a fine ball from the edge of the area to make it 1-0. After taking that lead into the changing room, Dutt's team gave up the equaliser just four minutes after the re-start as Garcia saw a ball go off his thigh and into his own goal.

The Green-Whites had a big chance to go ahead 2-1 in the 75th minute with Theo Gebre Selassie crossing from the left side to Zlatko Junuzovic, whose shot was blocked by the hosts' keeper. Bremen keeper Raphael Wolf had to save the draw in the 90th minute with an excellent stop of a long distance blast by Adam Franczczak. In the end, the 1-1 draw was a fair result.

The reaction: “Exactly the right match to score”

Robin Dutt: "I cannot blame my team at all today. The desire was there to win the game but the team was just too tired after the China trip."

Ludovic Obraniak: "Of course it's nice to have scored a goal in my homeland. For me, it was exactly the right match to score a goal again. I was really happy."

Martin Kobylanski: "I was really happy about seeing so many friends here today. Of course it was a nice sign that the coach gave me his faith today and let me play from the start."
