Werder one, Changchun Yatai zero! In the first of two test matches in China, SV Werder Bremen beat the Chinese top flight side 1-0 thanks to a goal by left back Santiago Garcia. Bremen clearly struggled with their long travels in front of 10,000 spectators at Changchun Jingkai Stadium. But the Green-Whites created some good chances despite the humid conditions in the northeastern part of the country. Garcia headed in the only goal in the 66th minute off an excellent cross from Clemens Fritz.

The reactions: "You had to get used to the climate"

Felix Kroos: "The goal is always to win - even in test matches. That's why we're happy to have gotten the third victory of the preparations. The trip here is an absolutely new experience for all of us. We haven't been able to see much yet but we are still happy to be allowed to be here."

Fin Bartels: "It was a very intensive match. You had to get used to the climate first of all. That's why it wasn't easy for us. But I think that we did a pretty good job until the end."

Fin Bartels about the climatic conditions in China: "The training sessions under these conditions are of course completely different than in Germany. With the heat and humidity, you really sweat, even if you don't move. And when you really have to go after it, it's really hard."
