Second match, second victory - the Green-Whites collected a deserved 3-1 victory in the test match against Al Fujairah, the first division side from the United Arab Emirates.
Head coach Viktor Skripnik was satisfied after the final whistle, saying: "We did what we wanted to do - play actively and look to push forward. So I am happy about both victories, also because we were able to come back from a deficit." Werder trailed 1-0 at the break but got the equaliser from Izet Hajrovice and Felix Kroos scored twice to give them a deserved win.
Werder started the match well and was the better team but fell behind in the 32nd minute as Hassan Maatouk made it 1-0 for Al Fujairah. After a number of chances, the Green-Whites finally equalised 1-1 in the 71st minute through Hajrovic. Kroos converted a penalty to push Werder ahead 2-1 eight minutes later. Kroos added a second goal two minutes before the final whistle for the 3-1 win.
Reaction to the match:

... the style of play: "Even in test matches, the will and body language must be correct and you need to go into tackles. And my team really did that superbly."
... the state of the team: "You saw that the guys in part had a different level of physicality. That was an important realisation from the two test matches."
... his conclusion: "The most important thing is that nobody got injured. We did what we wanted to do - play actively and look to push forward. So I am happy about both victories, also because we were able to come back from a deficit. The guys showed a good reaction."
