As part of their training camp in Donaueschingen, head coach Thomas Schaaf's team will take on Swiss second division side FC Winterthur on Wednesday 8 August 2012 at 7 p.m. A number of famous players have lined up for the tradition-rich club including German national team coach Jogi Löw and internationally successful coach Bora Milutinovic.

Im Rahmen des Trainingslagers in Donaueschingen tritt die Elf von Cheftrainer Thomas Schaaf am kommenden Mittwoch, 08.08.2012, um 19 Uhr beim Schweizer Zweitligisten FC Winterthur an. Bei dem traditionsreichen Verein standen schon einige namhafte Spieler unter Vertrag, sogar Bundestrainer Jogi Löw sowie Trainer-Weltenbummler Velibor „Bora" Milutinovic kickten einst dort.

The Swiss may have a slight advantage on Wednesday since they already playing league games while Werder are in the end of their season preparations and some players may have heavy legs from the training camp in Donaueschingen. But the Green-Whites have displayed fine form thus far including their victory in the LIGA total! Cup. So the fans can expect an interesting match at the Schützenwiese grounds. Kick-off of the friendly match, which will be the first encounter between the two teams, is at 7 p.m. There is space officially for 8,500 spectators at the Schützenwiese grounds. Tickets are available at the box office starting at 6 p.m. A standing spot ticket costs 12 Swiss francs (10 euros) and 20-25 francs for a seated spot. Standing audience members must be at least 12 years old and seated tickets are available starting at 6 years old.
