Werder Bremen created lots of chances but could not score a goal in their 0-0 test match draw against Dynamo Kiev in Cloppenburg. Still, the Green-Whites were satisfied heading to the changing room after the game as they had done well in their test against the Ukrainian record champions. "Kiev have a strong team with lots of experienced players. They gave us a good performance and provided the desired tough test match," said manager Klaus Allofs about the Champions League participants from the Ukrainian capital. It was the second test match within two days for SVW during the on-going international break.

WERDER.DE collected the reaction to the 0-0 draw against Kiev:

Klaus Allofs: "It was a very good test with lots of tempo which in the end only lacked the goals. These matches are extremely important for the reserves and the players who are coming back. But it's also good for the whole team to find the rhythm and confirmation of their own performance."

Thomas Schaaf: "It was a very interesting and exciting match with a high tempo. We created a lot of good offensive actions and can be very satisfied with our performance in general. Games like this one today after very important for our road forward and help the young team to find themselves."

Nils Petersen: "That was a very good test. You could see that we all took the match very seriously and really gave our all. In the end, the result is okay, even though we should have scored up front."

Aaron Hunt: "Up front we were missing a bit of luck in the odd situation. I think the team gave an orderly performance for how it was put together today. It was a good test for us, especially the players who haven't played that much yet this season. We were able to prove today that we can also hold our own against very strong opponents like Kiev. Now we as a team must have a reaction in the home match against Gladbach."
