Third time's a charm as well! Werder Bremen collected another impressive win at FC Verden 04 as the Green-Whites beat the Bezirkliga amateur side 7-3 (6-0) in front of nearly 5,500 spectators at the Berliner Ring stadium. Florian Trinks and Marko Arnautovic both scored three goals for Werder, who also got a tally from Kevin Schindler. Stefan Twietmeyer (61st and 63rd) scored two goals for Verden and Dennis Hoins (58th) also struck.
Despite allowing three goals in the second half, manager Klaus Allofs was satisfied with the team's showing. "Of course we can't allow the three goals. That happens when you play un-concentrated. But altogether it was a successful event. Once again it was clear that it's a big attraction when we play these kinds of games in Werderland. We want to be close to our fans and show ourselves. The game today fully fulfilled this purpose," said Allofs.
