Werder Bremen also won their second test match after the end of the Bundesliga season as the Green-Whites beat Landesliga amateur side Union Minden 14-2 (6-1) in front of 3,300 spectators at Minden's Weser Stadium. Said Husejinovic scored the opening goal after 11 minutes and Werder pushed the lead to 5-0 in a six-minute stretch with goals by Marko Arnautovic (25th and 31st), Aaron Hunt (26th) and Kevin Schindler (27th) to break the game open.

Lennart Versick pulled a goal back to give the Minden fans a reason to celebrate to make it 5-1 after 35 minutes. Hunt (41'/55'), Felix Schiller (53'), Niklas Anderson (59'), Husejinovic (60'), Arnautovic (65'), Schindler (68'), Predrag Stevanovic (70') and Philipp Bargfrede (82') increased the lead to 14-1 before Emrah Bingöl tallied the final goal of the night for Minden with seven minutes to play for the final score of 14-2.
