Werder Bremen have mid-week action this week as they take on VfL Wolfsburg on Tuesday night at Weser Stadium. The match against the Wolves will kick off at 8 p.m.

Did you know ...

... that games against Wolfsburg always end with a lot of goals? In games between Werder and the Wolves, an average of about three goals per game are scored. SVW handed Wolfsburg two of their biggest defeats in history as Werder won 6-1 at Weser Stadium in 2005 and then won 7-2 in Wolfsburg in 1999.

... that the game will be a reunion for many? Wolfsburg centre back Naldo and manager Klaus Allofs are two former Werder personalties returning to Weser Stadium while Bremen's Cedrick Makiadi played two seasons with Wolfsburg. The German-Congolese appeared in 48 Bundesliga matches for Wolfsburg between 2005 and 2007, scoring four goals.

... that there may be a number of anniversaries in the game? Cedrick Makiadi would play in his 200th Bundesliga match while Assani Lukimya and Theodor Gebre Selassie could play in his 50th Bundesliga match. Captain Clemens Fritz may end up appearing in his 250th Bundesliga match.

... what Robin Dutt thinks of VfL Wolfsburg? "Wolfsburg play very dominantly and always have a lot of ball possession. In the last few games though, they haven't turned that into a lot of goal chances. Still, it's a team with a lot of class."
