The fans and the team build a unit. SV Werder have long been able to rely on the support of their fans, who came up with the campaign "ALLEz Grün" ("Everything Green") to help push the team during the final stretch last season to avoid relegation. And the Green-Whites have had the unconditional support of the fans this season as well, which can be seen in the team's results. From their last six home matches, Werder's only loss came against Wolfsburg. And the fans plan on showing up at Weser Stadium in large numbers on Saturday 3:30 p.m. to make sure Werder get a home victory against Hertha Berlin.
Did you know ...
... that Werder have won their last five home matches against Berlin? The last Hertha victory at Weser Stadium dates back eight years to 11 March 2006, when they won 3-0.
... that Werder have only lost one of their last six home matches? Besides the 3-1 defeat against VfL Wolfsburg on the 27th match day, there have been three draws (against Mönchengladbach, Stuttgart and Schalke) as well as victories in the 100th North Derby against Hamburg (1-0) and against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (3-1).
... that Hertha have struggled recently away from home? Berlin have collected just two points from their last five matches on the road. Before that, Berlin were third on the away table after 22 match days. Currently they are 12th, even with the Green-Whites.

... that Werder have developed into a counter attack team? The last three Werder goals have all come on the counter attack. In the second half of the season, only Leverkusen (five goals) have scored more often on the counter than Werder (four scores) while only Hoffenheim's seven counter attack goals conceded are worse that Hertha's four goals.
... that two players from both clubs could face off against their former teams? Peter Niemeyer played 32 Bundesliga matches for Werder from 2007 to 2010 and scored two goals while Sandro Wagner had five scores in 30 Bundesliga matches from 2010 to 2012. On the other side, Richard Strebinger and Assani Lukimya both played in the Hertha youth ranks.
... what Robin Dutt thinks of Jos Luhukay's team? "Hertha have played a very good season. That can be seen in the fact that they secured a spot in the Bundesliga for next season earlier than us. I expect them to play with more courage up front here. In principle, they have nothing to lose. And since Hertha would also like to finish off the season on a high note, it could become an attractive match."
