Werder Bremen suffered a 3-0 defeat in their away match against VfL Wolfsburg, proving unable to continue a solid run of recent results. After a disappointing performance, Robin Dutt's team sits 12th in the table with 12 points after 10 match days. Maximilian Arnold, Ivica Olic and Ivan Perisic scored the goals for Wolfsburg.

One change
Dutt made one change to his starting line-up with Özkan Yildirim filling the striker spot for the injured Nils Petersen.

Concede early goal
Werder had an unlucky start to the match, falling behind 1-0 after only seven minutes. Olic's cross went to Arnold, who scored from nine yards out. Werder keeper Sebastian Mielitz had no chance to stop the goal.

Werder with problems
Werder never really got into the game after the early goal and struggled containing the dominant Wolfsburg side. Mielitz made a number of saves to keep his team in the match, including stops against Olic and Perisic in the 14th minute. The Green-Whites had to be happy to trail just 1-0 at the break.

Mielitz with strong showing
Mielitz made another superb save three minutes after the re-start, stopping a long-range blast from Diego. At the other end, Eljero Elia's long distance blast went just over the crossbar after 66 minutes. Wolfsburg keeper Diego Benaglio hindered the equaliser four minutes later with a save against Aaron Hunt.

Olic and Perisic score
The match was all but decided in the 72nd minute as Perisic's cross found Olic, who converted to make it 2-0 for the hosts. Werder had no answer and then Perisic pushed the lead to 3-0 in the 89th minute, finishing the defeat for the Green-Whites.
