Werder Bremen twice came back from two-goal deficits to collect a 4-4 draw at 1899 Hoffenheim on the 14th Bundesliga match day. The goals for Werder were scored by Aaron Hunt, Eljero Elia, Nils Petersen and Philipp Bargfrede, while Sejad Salihovic tallied twice for Hoffenheim and Kevin Volland and Kai Herdling both hit for one goal.
Switching keepers
Head coach Robin Dutt made three changes to his starting line-up from last week against Mainz with Raphael Wolf replacing Sebastian Mielitz in goal while Mehmet Ekici and Santiago Garcia started for Davie Selke and Felix Kroos.
Early deficit
Just like against Mainz, Werder once again had problems getting into the match, falling behind early on. Santiago Garcia fouled Volland in the box in the 12th minute, resulting in a penalty. Wolf had no chance on the spot kick against Sehovic, who made it 1-0 after 12 minutes. Hoffenheim keeper Koen Casteels made a strong save on Hunt's shot two minutes later. And the referee once again pointed to the spot in the 18th minute as Eugen Polanski went down after a tackle by Cedrick Makiadi, with Sehovic once again converting from the spot for a 2-0 lead.

Double strike for Werder
Referee Wolfgang Stark pointed to the penalty spot yet again in the 44th minute after a Hunt free kick was handled in the box by Sven Schipplock. Hunt stepped up to the spot and converted to make it 2-1 in the 45th minute. The Green-Whites knotted the match 2-2-2 a minute into stoppage time as Hunt's pass from the goal line somehow got past Casteels to Elia, who was all alone to hit home. And the match was even at 2-2 at the break.
Double strike for Hoffenheim
Werder fell behind again in the 48th minute as the Green-Whites' defense did not watch out on a cross from Sehovic on the left side and Volland headed past Wolf from six yards out, making it 3-2. Hoffenheim struck again in the 52nd minute as Herdling unleashed a blast to the far right post to push the lead to 4-2.
Petersen and Bargfrede score
Werder made the match interesting again in the 59th minute as Clemens Fritz passed into the middle from the right side and Petersen stuck out his foot and hit home from five yards out to make it 4-3. And the comeback was complete a minute into stoppage time as Bargfrede blasted home from 12 yards out to make it 4-4, sending the Green-Whites into wild celebrations in collecting an important point.
