Werder Bremen moved a step closer to staying in the Bundesliga! In a dramatic final stage of the 31st match day, the Green-Whites grabbed a 3-1 victory at home over TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in front of a sold out Weser Stadium. Philipp Bargfrede's dream goal in the 16th minute equalised the early deficit through Kevin Volland in the third minute. Santiago Garcia gave Werder the lead in the 78th minute and then keeper Raphael Wolf stopped Sejad Salihovic's penalty in the 86th minute, sending the crowd on the Osterdeich into a frenzy. Substitute Nils Petersen finished things off with his goal in the second minute of stoppage time.

Highlights: Wonderful goals and a penalty hero

3rd Min.: Goal, 1-0 Hoffenheim, Kevin Volland. ... Hoffenheim had the better star to the match as Roberto Firmino sent a superb pass to Volland, who circled Wolf and pushed home from a tight ankle.

18th Min.: Gooaal, 1-1 equaliser, Philipp Bargfrede. Philipp Bargfrede's courage to risk everything brought Werder the equaliser! Hoffenheim centre back Jannik Vestergaard's clearance attempt went to Bargfrede and the midfielder did a great job hitting home a slightly deflected dropkick shot into the upper left corner.

78th Min.: Goooaaallll for SVW! 2-1, Santiago Garcia. The Green-Whites used a set piece to turn around the match. Aaron Hunt's corner kick went directly to Garcia, who went up and headed into the upper right corner over Vestergaard.

86th Min.: Raphael Wolf stops PENALTY!!!! Unbelievable! Werder's keeper would not give in to the usually so ice-cold penalty taker Sejad Salihovic and stops the Bosnian's spot kick in the final minutes! Did that decide the match? Maybe even staying in the league? Goal scorer Garcia had felled Hoffenheim's Anthony Modeste in the area.

90 + 2 Min.: GOOOAALLL for Werder! The 3-1 decision, Nils Petersen. What an ending to this thrilling match. An excellent counter attack by the Green-Whites, led by Garcia and Franco Di Santo - is finished off by Petersen to decide the match.

The Analysis: Phenomenal Bremen passion

Raphael Wolf stop the Penalty from Sejad Salihovic.

Noteworthy:

- After falling behind early, the Green-Whites fought their way back into the match and gained more possession throughout the first half.

Scene of the match: What other moment in this so important home victory could it be other than Raphael Wolf stopping a penalty in the final minutes? Without a doubt, it was the key scene of the match!

Werder Player of the Match: It was a fantastic, collective team performance but Wolf keeping his nerves and getting the best of Salhihovic made him stick out a bit more.

Conclusion: Both teams didn't give an inch in this up-tempo Bundesliga match. Hoffenheim did have more chances over the course of the second half but the Green-Whites' tremendous energy effort carried them to a somewhat lucky but worthy victory in the match.
