Werder Bremen suffered a 3-1 defeat at FC Augsburg on the 25th match day of the Bundesliga. Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker's own goal gave Werder the lead before Tobias Werner, Halil Altintop and Andre Hahn turned the game around. The Green-Whites finished the match with 10 men as Santiago Garcia was sent off in the 45th minute.
Two changes
Werder coach Robin Dutt made two changes to his starting line-up with Cedrick Makiadi and Franco di Santo starting for the injured Aaron Hunt and Philipp Bargfrede.
Early goal for Werder
Werder had a great start to the match, pulling ahead after just three minutes on an own goal by the hosts. Augsburg defender Callsen-Bracker headed Eljero Elia's corner into his own goal for a 1-0 Bremen lead. The Green-Whites were lucky to still be ahead three minutes later as Werner headed a free kick off the right post.
Werner scores
Werder keeper Raphael Wolf was beaten in the 11th minute as Werner's shot off a corner was deflected by Theo Gebre Selassie into the Werder goal to make it 1-1. The game had a high tempo in front of the 28,000 spectators but Werder stood well defensively and didn't allow many chances.

Yellow-red card for Garcia
The Green-Whites went a man down in the 45th minutes as Garcia received a questionable second warning and was sent off. It was an unlucky decision by the referee, leaving Bremen to play the second half with 10 men.
Double strike after the break
Augsburg decided the game with a double strike shortly after the break. Altintop was left unmarked in the 49th minute on a cross from Hahn and volleyed into the Werder goal to make it 2-1 for the hosts. Hahn added Augsburg's third goal in the 55th minute after a misunderstanding between Lukas Schmitz and Wolf for a 3-1 Augsburg advantage.
No chance a man down
Being a man down, Dutt's team didn't have a chance to get back into the game and had to accept the defeat.
