Hunt, Yildirim, Bargfrede and Sokratis out - A. Stevanovic, M. Wegner, Wurtz in: Those were the personnel decisions that the coaching duo of Wolfgang Rolff and Matthias Hönerbach were forced to make Friday afternoon following the final training before the last match of the season at Nuremberg (Saturday, starting at 3:15 p.m. in live ticker on WERDER.DE).

The absence of the Greek defender Sokratis was not clear until the end of the session. "I made a wrong move and felt a pull. I will not be in Nuremberg," said the 24-year-old on the way to the changing room. The eventual diagnosis was an adductors strain, meaning Sokratis was done for the season.
In addition to Sokratis, the 4,500 Werder fans travelling to Grundig Stadium will also not see the injured Özkan Yildirim (tendon inflammation in foot) and Aaron Hunt (adductors problems) play. Philipp Bargfrede will miss the match as well with a yellow card suspension. But that's no reason for Rolff to be pessimistic. "We trained really well and are well prepared for the match. If we show the fighting attitude from the last two home matches then we should have a good match," said the 53-year-old. Rolff has a clear goal for the Green-Whites. "The team wants to finish the season on a positive note and finally win again after 12 matches without a victory," said the co-coach.

Even though Nuremberg have only booked one victory in the last five showdowns with Werder, Rolff knows the team will be tough. "We have to really watch out for set pieces since they have a good header man in Simons," said Rolff. "Nuremberg put together a good stretch at the beginning of the second half then struggled. But they found their form again in Düsseldorf. They helped us with their victory even though it didn't matter to them at all," said Rolff.

Here is SV Werder's 17-man squad for the Nuremberg match: Mielitz, Strebinger - Pavlovic, Lukimya, De Bruyne, Fritz, Schmitz, Prödl, Junuzovic, Ignjovski, Kroos, Akpala, Gebre Selassie, Petersen, Wurtz, A. Stevanovic, M. Wegner.
