SV Werder Bremen will be taking on promoted side Fortuna Düsseldorf on Sunday November 18 2012 at 3:30 p.m. at Weser Stadium, looking for the home victory to remain in the top third of the table. "Of course it's positive that all the international players returned healthy from their national team duties," said Werder head coach Thomas Schaaf at the press conference ahead of the match against Düsseldorf.
Werder have the better record
Chances are good that the Green-Whites squad will be without injuries in the hope of improving the positive record against the team from the Rhineland region. Bremen have won 13 of their 22 Bundesliga home matches against Fortuna. Werder's last defeat at Weser Stadium dates back to 1977, when of all players Klaus Allofs scored to make it 2-0 for Düsseldorf. The last match against Düsseldorf came more than 14 years ago in the German DFB Cup. Werder's now ex-manager Allofs also played a role in Bremen's 3-2 victory as he was Fortuna's head coach for the match.

Schaaf warns his team: "Already made some noise"
The development of the promoted team hints that showdowns between Werder and Fortuna will once again become a regular occurrence. After a very curious start to the 50th Bundesliga season - in which Düsseldorf did not concede a goal until the sixth match day - Fortuna's results have been less positive of late. Still, Werder's coach warned his team. "You have to recognize that Düsseldorf have already made some noise this season. You can tell how much drive this troop has," said Schaaf.
Düsseldorf saw 15 players leave the team after promotion, including Green-Whites defender Assani Lukimya. Former Bremen player Leon Balogun has yet to showcase his skills while keeper Fabian Giefer, and defenders Stelios Malezas and Tobias Levels have all excelled as well as top scorer Dani Schahin. "It's an entirely newly-built team which has really made things difficult for a lot of teams. It will not be easy to play our game," said Schaaf.
