After Werder Bremen and Stuttgart were uncommonly involved in the relegation fight last season a showdown of top sides will be played on Sunday 27 November 2011 at 3:30 p.m. "Stuttgart is a top team for me and we will have to show that we are successful against them," said manager Klaus Allofs about the match against Stuttgart. While Bremen defender Sokratis is suspended after a yellow-red card last weeks, Stuttgart's Maza will be returning from a suspension and rejoin the starting line-up.

Offensively, Stuttgart live off their quick push forward, their counter attack and their dangerous play from the wings - especially from Martin Harnik. The former Bremen player did not only score two goals in Stuttgart's 2-1 win over Augsburg but is Bruno Labbadia's club's leading scorer with six goals. Werder coach Thomas Schaaf was happy about the positive development by his former player Harnik. "We always knew of his ability and what he had inside him. His play is distinguished with his will to run and his great passion. He also displayed that here. But now he has turned that into effectiveness and quality to score goals. You can congratulate him for that and for becoming an important player in Stuttgart's game," said Schaaf.

"His certainty during play only came about because he had the chance to play regularly," said Allofs referring to the fact that Harnik was on loan with Fortuna Düsseldorf in 2009. "He didn't have as much competition there. He also has found an advantageous situation in Stuttgart. That was not the case with us so we can follow that very calmly." Werder will have to do without Claudio Pizarro on offence but they still would like to keep the three points in Weser Stadium.
