When Borussia Dortmund play against Werder Bremen on Friday 14 October 2011 at 8:30 p.m., it will be a showdown between the sixth and second placed teams in the Bundesliga. And the fans at the sold out Weser Stadium can certainly look forward to an exciting showdown. "Bremen are once again playing how everyone knows them. They are extremely strong in play, very active with the ball - a top team in the Bundesliga like for years," said Dortmund coach Jürgen Klopp about the Green-Whites.

Thomas Schaaf said the reigning German champions have found their stride with two straight victories after a slow start. "Everyone is twice as motivated and concentrated against the champions," said Schaaf. And that is necessary as Dortmund have an excellent team with great players. The champs have not played as strong as they did last season but the Green-Whites will need all they have to beat them in Weser Stadium.
The top notch showdown in Bremen will be a real test for both teams. Left-back Marcel Schmelzer will be unavailable due to a muscle fibre tear while Mario Götze is dealing with ankle problems and is questionable for the game. Paraguay international Lucas Barrios, however, may be able to return to the starting line-up. And what about Werder Bremen? "It is an entirely new situation for us because we will be facing a team that will certainly not just sit back," said Klopp about the Green-Whites. "If we have a good showing it could really be an open exchange of blows - which is really nice for the spectators."
