Werder Bremen allowed a stoppage time goal in collecting only a 1-1 draw at home against Augsburg in the 27th game day in the Bundesliga. Niclas Füllkrug gave the Green-Whites the lead before Paul Verhaegh equalised for Augsburg.
Two changes
Werder head coach Thomas Schaaf made two changes to his line-up with Lukas Schmitz and Füllkrug replacing Sebastian Prödl and Mehmet Ekici. Both teams struggled to create many offensive opportunities in the early going though Augsburg keeper Simon Jentzsch made a fine stop on Markus Rosenberg's shot in the 29th minute. Werder were lucky to have not allowed a goal six minutes later as Aleksandar Ignjovski cleared Ja Choel Koo's shot at the line. And then Bremen's Zlatko Junuzovic stood at the post in the 38th minute as Augsburg had more chances in the first half, which ended with the teams deadlocked at 0-0.

More attacking
Schaaf's team were much more attacking after the break with Füllkrug heading over the bar in the 47th and shooting just wide left from 22 yards out two minutes later.
Füllkrug scores
Füllkrug finally got his goal in the 61st minute as Schmitz's pass landed at the 19-year-old, who had plenty of space and his shot tailed away from Jentzsch to the far right post to make it 1-0. Rosenberg nearly doubled the lead after 64 minutes but the Swede's shot went just wide right.
Boenisch returns
In the 78th minute, Schaaf brought on Sebastian Boenisch, who made his first Bundesliga appearance of the season. But not even Boenisch could keep Augsburg from equalising 1-1 in the second minute of stoppage time. Koo's shot was blocked by Werder keeper Sebastian Mielitz but the rebound went off Verhaegh and Sokratis could not clear the ball in front of the line and Werder had to deal with the shocking 1-1 draw.
