Werder Bremen played only to a 1-1 draw at Cologne on the 29th game day of the Bundesliga - a result that doesn't help in the Green-Whites' fight for the European spots. Markus Rosenberg scored for Werder and Ammar Jemal struck for Cologne.
Thomas Schaaf made two games to his line-up with Marko Marin and Lukas Schmitz coming in for Florian Hartherz and Philipp Bargfrede. In front of 45,000 spectators at RheinEnergie Stadium, Cologne started the game with some good tempo but couldn't come up with a dangerous chance.

Rosenberg finishes attack
The Green-Whites pulled ahead in the 24th minute on a counter attack as Marin passed in the last second to Rosenberg and the Swede struck past Cologne keeper Michael Rensing into the far left corner. Werder keeper Tim Wiese made a superb save against Martin Lanig in the 33rd minute but Cologne knotted the game 1-1 after 39 minutes as Jemal headed in Lukas Podolski's corner from six yards out. And that was the scoreline at the break.
Chance for Podolski
Schaaf did not make any changes at half-time but Cologne were the more active and dangerous team early after the break as Lukas Podolski's blast went just over the crossbar in the 48th minute. Schaaf reacted eventually and brought on Sebastian Boenisch for Zlatko Junuzovic after 61 minutes. Wiese was forced into making another superb save in the 75th minute against Christian Clemens Werder were not able to create much offence thereafter and in the end had to be happy with a 1-1 goal against relegation threatened Cologne.
