Werder Bremen's hopes for the Europa League took another hit as the Green-Whites lost 2-1 at home against Bayern Munich on the 32nd game day of the German Bundesliga. Naldo gave Werder the lead but then scored an own goal to equalise the game before Franck Ribery scored the game-winner in the final minute.
Four changes
Bremen head coach Thomas Schaaf made four changes to his line-up with Florian Trinks, Aaron Hunt, Tom Trybull and Aleksandar Stevanovic replacing Sokratis, Aleksandar Ignjovski, Marko Marin and Clemens Fritz. Stevanovic was making his starting debut while captain Fritz and Sokratis were both suspended.

Poor first half
Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes sent a B-side out in front of the sold-out crowd of 42,100 fans at Weser Stadium as Munich rested their top troops for Wednesday's Champions League semi-final return leg against Real Madrid. Mario Gomez, Arjen Robben, Ribery, Toni Kroos and Jerome Boateng all did not start the match. Still Bremen struggled to create chances in the early going of a lacklustre match.
Rosenberg misses chance, Bayern hit crossbar
Werder keeper Tim Wiese made a fine save on Nils Petersen's header in the 19th minute and the Markus Rosenberg sent his header from five yards out over the bar in the 23rd minute. Petersen nearly gave Munich the lead after 44 minutes but he struck the crossbar from 12 yards out. And the game went into the break deadlocked at 0-0.
Naldo scores
The Green-Whites grabbed the lead in the 51st minute on a set piece as Zlatko Junozovic's corner kick found Claudi Pizarro, though the Peruvian could not cleanly hit his header. But Naldo was on hand to blast the ball into the net from five yards out for a 1-0 lead.
Naldo scores own goal
Bayern pushed forward looking for the equaliser and Heynckes brought on Ribery, Toni Kroos and Gomez after the hour mark. The move paid off as Ribery crossed from the left side to a streaking Gomez but Naldo attempted to clear only to strike it past Wiese into his own goal for a 1-1 score after 75 minutes. Both sides had chances as both teams were looking for the three points. And while Niklas Füllkrug missed a header from five yards in the 84th minute for Werder, Ribery scored the game winner in the 90th minute, getting past Stevanovic left of goal and then striking his left-foot blast just inside the far right post for the 2-1 Bayern win.
