Özkan Yildirim had to prematurely leave the training grounds Thursday morning with a bandaged knee and a disappointed look on his face one day after scoring two goals in the test match against Concordia Suurhusen.
"I felt a slight twinge in the game and I felt it again during a passing drill. It didn't feel like it was something bad. The fact that I did not finish training was solely a precautionary measure," said Yildirim. "The doctor will take an exact look at it and then decide how we move on."
The Werder player received good news in the afternoon as examinations showed he had a slight ligament strain in his knee. Normally, the 20-year-old would miss about one week.
