Özkan Yildirim underwent successful groin surgery on Wednesday and is positive looking forward to the up-coming months of rehab. "The operation went well, I'm happy about that. I only have minor pain, but that's normal after this kind of surgery. I had been dealing with groin problems for a while and that's why the operation was necessary," said Yildirim, who was operated on by Dr. Jens Krüger in Berlin.
"The current season is over for me but now I can work on my comeback for next season. I hope that I can stay clear of injury setbacks and look forward to being fit again," said the 21-year-old. It's not quite clear when the rehab will exactly begin.
But Yildirim is in close contact with Werder team doctor Götz Dimanski, who will plan the rehab program. Yildirim has appeared in 19 Bundesliga matches for the Green-Whites, but that hopefully changes soon. "I want to show what I can do and will once again give my all for Werder next season," said ‘Ötzi'.
