Johannes Wurtz is leaving SV Werder Bremen and will transfer starting in the 2014-15 season to SpVgg Greuther Fürth, as agreed by both clubs. The striker, who has been on loan with SC Paderborn this season, signed a three-year contract with the Shamrocks.
Wurtz, who had a deal with the Green-Whites until 2016, is currently trying to help Paderborn earn promotion to the Bundesliga. In the current season, the 21-year-old has appeared in 21 matches and scored six goals. Neither club released details about the amount of the transfer fee.
The Saarland native transferred in the summer of 2012 from his home city club Saarbrücken to the Weser. With Werder, Wurtz predominantly played with the U23s, scoring 16 goals in 29 matches in the Regionalliga Nord. He played two matches in the Bundealiga.
