SV Werder Bremen took over the status as the number one team in the north for the first time this season as the Green-Whites used their 1-1 draw at Wolfsburg to move ahead of Hannover, who loss 5-0 against Bayern Munich. And Werder can enjoy spending at least the night in an international spot.

WERDER.DE collected reaction after the game:

Eljero Elia: "We need to continue to play how we started today. We were really strong, didn't allow anything and pressured them up front."

Klaus Allofs: "That was a very difficult match for us against a Bremen team very certain with the ball and willing to run. We gave them too much space in the first half. We improved that. We were a bit too hectic. Maybe we wanted too much."

Thomas Schaaf: "We played very confidently. The team believes in how they played. The offence is good but we keep losing too much and cannot complete our plays. You can also see that we had enough chances before the red card to have added the second goal. We often are missing it in the final moment. Sometimes I want to call out to my wingers that they can also shoot, that they don't always have to pass to their teammates."

Nils Petersen: "After some plays, I also think that I could have rather shot the ball myself. But I have so much going on in my head, how a ball can be scored by a teammate or result in an own goal. You have to find the feeling for the right decision."

Marco Arnautovic: "It's nice to see the guys again on the pitch. We are only footballers. Naldo was always like a big brother to me. Of course we used the chance to exchange some words. I was very much looking forward to this match today."
