Werder keeper Raphael Wolf underwent successful surgery on his left knee Tuesday afternoon 19 March 2013 with Dr. Thore Zantop from the Sporthopaedicum Straubing carrying out the procedure. "Everything went great. I have some slight pain, but that's normal and part of the healing process," said Wolf a couple hours after the operation.

Wolf will remain in Straubing until Saturday and then begin his rehab at the RehaZentrum Bremen under the guidance of Werder team doctor Götz Dimanski. It is not yet clear when Wolf will be able to return to the pitch. "My goal naturally is to return as quickly as possible and contribute. I will take the necessary time though," said the keeper.
