Clemens Fritz worked out individually and Mehmet Ekici remained in the catacombs of Weser Stadium. Both were unable to train with the team on Thursday and it's now clear that neither will be on the roster against Augsburg.

"Memo Ekici still is battling with his injury from the training camp and the match would be too early for Clemens Fritz. So, neither is an option," said head coach Robin Dutt at the official press conference.

Manager Thomas Eichin also discussed Ekici refuting some media speculation that his being away from the training grounds meant a possible transfer. "Mehmet's foot is injured and he not on the way to Turkey. He is going through a rehab program here. He is a member of our team and that will remain so," said Eichin.

The players - without Ekici and Fritz - still have one more closed training session Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. before they depart for Augsburg.
