Sebastian Prödl was not fit in time for the first Bundesliga match of the season against Hertha Berlin as the Austrian international, who suffered a muscle fibre tear in his left thigh in the days leading up to the game, had to watch the 2-2 draw last weekend as a spectator. But Prödl will not miss the first home match of the 2014-15 season as he is fit and ready to play.

Prödl will most likely return to Robin Dutt's squad for the match against Hoffenheim. "After watching training the last couple of days, it is clear to me that he can start the match," said Dutt at the pre-match press conference on Thursday.

A strong mentality leads to success

With the return of the deputy captain, Dutt has a difficult choice to make. And not only at the centre back position. "At the moment we have more in-form players on the squad than places in the starting line-up," said the coach, who was talking about the high level of competition within the team.

Both the motivated training sessions and the recent positive mentality of the team leads Dutt to believe that it could be a tight match on Saturday against Hoffenheim. "I think that we have good chances of winning the game. Our mentality is that we cannot just be pushed around. We have the quality to give everything we have. And it doesn't matter what the score is and who we're playing against," said Dutt.
