The official nomination of the Polish national federation arrived Wednesday morning and Werder's Ludovic Obraniak was included in Poland's roster for the international match against Germany in Hamburg. "It's the first time that I will play against Germany. I already know a few players from the Bundesliga. I am happy about the nomination and about this showdown. Germany are among the favourites for the World Cup title. We want to be a good test match opponent for the Germans," said Werder's Polish international looking forward to the match next Tuesday.
Obraniak is in line to make his 34th appearance for Poland. The 29-year-old last played for Poland two months ago in a test match against Scotland. The midfielder started the match in Warsaw's National Stadium and played 74 minutes before being subbed out and eventually watching from the bench as Scotland scored the 1-0 winner.
Obraniak returned to training on Tuesday after overcoming muscle stiffness in his left calf, which kept him out almost two weeks.
