Werder Bremen keeper Tim Wiese will earn his fifth cap for the German national team on Tuesday 6 September 2011 when Germany play a friendly in Poland with kick off in Gdansk at 8:45 p.m. German national team coach Joachim Löw made the announcement at the official press conference ahead of the game against the co-hosts of the 2012 European Championship. Wiese last played for Germany on 29 March 2011 in the friendly against Australia.

Other Werder players are also playing for their national teams as last weekend Claudio Pizarro appeared in the first of two friendlies for Peru against Bolivia. The Werder striker showed his prowess by scoring in the 81st minute for the 2-2 equaliser.

Aleksandar Ignjovski and the Serbian U21 national team made a strong start to their European Championship qualification with a 1-0 victory over Northern Ireland in Group 4. On Tuesday, Ignjovski and Serbia will face off with the Faroe Islands in the second group match.

Florian Trinks and Lennart Thy both played twice with the German U20 national team - and both times were a success. Germany beat Poland 4-2 in Offenburg and then knocked off Switzerland 2-1 in Wohlen. Werder youngster Trinks set up the first goal against the Swiss with a free kick.
