Werder keeper Tim Wiese was nominated Friday afternoon 4 November 2011 by Germany head coach Joachim Löw for the German national team's friendly matches in Ukraine (Friday, 11 November 2011 at 8:45 p.m. in Kiev) and against the Netherlands (Tuesday, 15 November 2011, 8:45 p.m. in Hamburg). Wiese stands a good chance to play against Ukraine as Germany's top keeper Manuel Neuer is expected to get a rest. But Neuer is part of the 24-man roster for the game against the Netherlands.

Mehmet Ekici meanwhile has been nominated for Turkey's Euro2012 play-off matches against Croatia on those same two dates. Sokrates and Greece will play two test matches - against Russia and Romania - on those dates. And Marko Arnautovic and Sebastian Prödl's Austrians will play against Ukraine on 15 November.

Also in action on 15 November is Aleksandar Ignjovski with Serbia's U21 national team, who will be playing in Northern Ireland and looking to remain atop Group 4 in the U21 European Championship qualification campaign ahead of Denmark - who have a match in hand. Lennart Thy will play for the German U20 national team in a tournament in Poland.

One level lower, Werder talents Florian Hartherz, Tom Trybull and Niklas Füllkrug will play two test matches with the German U19 national team against Egypt. On 11 November at 6:30 p.m. they play in Pirmasens and two days later at 11 a.m. the Germans and Egyptians hook horns in Dillingen.
